Rinat Shayna Brodach is an Israeli American, New York-based fashion designer born in Israel to a family of Moroccan and Eastern European descent. Brodach’s desire to be fashion designer and to use fashion as a mode of expression was evident at an early age. Her curiosity for the draping and the movement of fabric led her to further exploration of fashion. In 2005, she relocated to San Francisco to attend the Academy of Art University where she earned a BFA in Fashion Design.
During her senior year at the Academy of Art University, Brodach’s thesis collection gained special recognition, which granted her a year-long scholarship to attend The Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne in Paris. The year following her time at The Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne, Brodach worked with a variety of Parisian fashion brands, including the fashion house of Steffie Christiaens. As well, her work was featured in Sally Congdon-Martin’s 2011 book, Emerging Fashion Designers 2. In 2012, she left Paris to settle in New York City, where she founded the brand that now bears her name.
Brodach’s designs effortlessly and selectively enhance the female figure while capturing a gentle interplay between androgyny and sensuality. Her work stems from her extensive knowledge and training in draping, which allows the woman beneath the garment to stand out and draw others in. Woven into each garment is her spiritual identity that exposes the light through darkness. Brodach is committed to a philosophy of truth, integrity, and quality, and maintaining a deep connection to the human soul.
